== Background ==
After the Dominion War concluded, the Federation began a purge of unofficial Section 31 influence within the Federation and Starfleet. In response, a wing of the Section began collecting resources from caches around the Federation.

In 2377, Under the direction of Admiral K'Vol (deceased), the USS Plenty under the command of Jacques LaValle was co-opted without his knowledge by the Admiral to discover and defuse Section 31's plans.

== The Coup ==
War Games held in Sector 001 were infiltrated by the Section, who planned a bloodless coup: before the larger Fleet or Federation Council could know or stop the event, leadership on Earth and in the Sol System was to be replaced by Section 31 Loyalists, approaching in vessels under the cover of the War Games.

Thanks to a double agent and a Section leader with surprising loyalty to the Federation Constitution, the coup was defeated.
