Orion Federated States

After a Q-style-power Starfleet Officer accidentally 'quantum leaped' officers from 2377 24 years into the past, and into the bodies of Starfleet negotiators mediating a deal between Orion governments and much stronger Syndicate members, the timeline was changed.

After this cosmic interaction, Orion solar systems and their associated allied government bodies were able to counter the Syndicates neutralizing their governments. Since that time, a much smaller, less centralized version of Orion allied states emerged (the Orion Federated States, or OSF).

An OSF naval fleet modeled after Starfleet and patterned after Orion's medical and science (as a counter to Syndicate criminal and mercenary mindset) has kept reducing the influence of the Syndicates since that time. Affectionately known as 'Whitecoats' to highlight Orion pride in their scientific skills, the Orion fleet has quickly developed cross-border agreements with Klingons, Federation and Romulans.
